I think a lot of people who get offended/complain easily really need to reevaluate themselves. Like if some kid sitting behind a computer screen can ‘hurt your self esteem’ maybe you don’t have that much in the first place. And that was not caused by that person. Nor is it their fault.
Sure it’s shitty of people to ‘say mean things’ to you. But you are going to run into even shittier people, all the time, in the REAL world. Your acquaintances, your ‘friends’ your co-workers, your bosses. If you can’t deal with some jackass behind a computer, how the actual fuck are you going to survive when you become a functioning member of society.
